acro/tumbling
OurAIM Athletics Acro and Tumbling program focuses on precision acrobatic elements combined with classical dance techniques. Our smaller class sizes enable us to focus on each student, and we encourage a hard-working training environment with a focus on proper and safe techniques. Acro classes will focus on retaining all the “fun” while taking their skills to the next level.
Dancers work towards increased flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline, concentration, and the fundamentals of acro. Based on each students individual technique level, dancers are taught such skills as handstands, cartwheels, bridge recovery, arabians, kip ups, head springs, chest stands, flying cartwheels-moving to aerials, basic back handspring, progressing to advanced aerials, balance and contortion tricks, and more advanced acrobatic partner, group, and performance skills. Students will work through conditioning and the acrobatic arts progressions and syllabus to achieve these skills.
